Greek island of Symi

When the ferry harbor clings to the beautiful island of Symi, the distance fancies that some jolly sprinkled around the city watercolor. Colorful houses in a big mess scattered on the slopes. If you look closely, you can spot the between-stairs steep streets. Road transport is not running.

In the northern part of the island is its capital. This small town Ano Symi.

Its lower part is in the harbor, and on top of a huge staircase leads Kalistrat having 350 steps. This tedious and difficult ascent would require a lot of patience and reward stunning views of the bay and the coast. But wanting to climb the Callistratus not so much. Most travelers prefer tavernas people here who are famous for catching shrimp in front of the customers. Chef with a net hunts sea creatures living in large aquariums. Catching the right amount, cook immediately throws shrimp in boiling water. Ready shrimp served on a platter filled with lemon sauce.

South side of the island, where towering ancient walls of the monastery Panormitis attacked numerous lovers. Ancient superstition says that if a convent next to the icon of the Archangel Michael put a picture of a loved one, then love will certainly happen. Therefore photos, souvenirs and various gifts here accumulated huge set.
